At The Moment and From Later hosts a panel discussion at Shopify Toronto on the impact of technology on women's work, exploring how economies respond to women's needs and changing roles.
At The Moment, a collective that connects and celebrates women breaking boundaries, is hosting a dialogue to explore the impact of technology on what has traditionally been defined as women’s work. The panelists, including a writer, co-founder, foresight practice leader, and moderator, will discuss what women’s work will look like in 10-20 years, as economies respond to women’s needs. They examine the social, technological, economic, and environmental drivers that will impact work, workplaces, and work practices, and how certain we are that these drivers will become a reality. The event will also raise funds for the exhibition, This Womxn's Work, which explores the past, present, and futures of women’s work in Toronto through the lens of women of color. The online exhibition features performance, visual art, film, and an immersive audio experience that invites audiences to think critically about possible and preferred futures of women’s work. The event is in celebration of International Women’s Day and aims to shift the conversation about the future of work to include women's perspectives and the impact of technology on traditionally defined women's work. From Later, a foresight studio based in Toronto, provided the research for the panel discussion and exhibition. The organizers believe in the collective strength of women and aim to connect them to experiences that celebrate who they are, share traditions and culture, and curate objects that are rooted in history but redesigned for modern times.
