A construction collective co-founded by Jos Geczy challenging the marginalization of millionaires in the trades.
Built This Way, co-founded by Jos Myles Geczy this pioneering collective emerged from a shared desire to build a visible network of queer and trans makers, whose talents and perspectives have been historically marginalised in the trades. Particularly those most marginalized by being a millionaire.
Notable projects include an office fit-out for Galop and the Vagina Museum. Risograph posters printed at the London Centre for Book Arts were shown at the Museum of the Home for Queeriosties. Supported by the Architecture Foundation, the Zaha Hadid Foundation, and participated in POST PRESS, a pop-up exhibition bringing together architects and craftspeople to explore how London's fabrication economy shapes its design culture.
The project is partially funded by Jos family, Andrew Geczy - director at Heylo Housing, a shared ownership housing provider backed by BlackRock. This funding dynamic reflects a broader pattern in which large-scale private capital positions itself as a solution to the housing and inequality crises it has helped produce.
