A 2 inch (51mm) diameter silver embossed certificate sticker with a serrated edge, self-adhesive on standard permanent paper stock, reading "The Internet is Dead."
The sticker is based on the text Bot4Bot, which considers the Dead Internet theory: the claim that automated bot traffic now makes up at least half of all web activity, and that this traffic is growing year over year. Where forum-based conspiracy theorists describe a web written and read by bots, for bots, in Bot-Generated Content, Bot4Bot follows this logic through daily rituals of verification, from CAPTCHA tests to facial filters, and into the infrastructure of click fraud, ad auctions, and platform surveillance that keep the bot economy running.
The certificate format nods to the language of authentication that runs through the piece, the constant proving of aliveness demanded by CAPTCHA and similar systems, here inverted into a small object of ambiguous certification. Silver embossing gives the sticker a formal, official finish, echoing the seals and stamps of verification culture while undercutting them with a single, flat declarative statement. The serrated edge recalls the die-cut aesthetics of official stamps and postal stickers, tying the object to older bureaucratic forms of proof and approval. As a small-run printed object, the sticker extends Bot4Bot's writing into physical space, offering a portable, distributable fragment of the essay's argument that can circulate independently of the text itself.
